A Fun Filled Day at the Beach with A Sweat Life #TrainersConnect
Posted by Roxy Glasser on
A couple weeks back I was fortunate enough to swap my screens for the sand. The local Chicago workout community, aSweatLife, hosted their monthly #TrainersConnect event at North Avenue beach, and I was stoked. Among some thirty trainers from across the city, organizations like the men’s skincare line, Bottlecode, Chicago SUP and even a professional Spikeball player, Christopher Hornacek, came to show off his beach moves.
So what was on the lakeside menu? Homemade, Whole30-approved chicken barbecue kebabs topped with green onions. For the veggie trainers, a quinoa kale salad complete with golden beets, grape tomatoes, spinach, arugula, carrots and our house-made pesto dressing. And it wouldn’t be a beach day without an antipasto salad, featuring hard boiled eggs, spinach carrot strips, artichokes, kalamata olives, red onions, pepperoncinis, and garlic. But the biggest hit? The Cooked Watermelon Cooler made with mashed watermelon, mint, honey and lime.
At Cooked, we’re big fans of fitness trainers — out there doing good things for good people in the name of health. Our Trainer Incentive Program aims for healthy eating across the board. For every 20% off Cooked coupon redeemed by their clients, trainers get 10% for themselves.
